Medieval Times

Last month the Nielsons (our friends from Baylor) were good enough to come up to visit us for a little weekend fun.  We spent the day talking and catching up, and then that night we got to go to Medieval Times!  If you want to hear more of the details, Krista posted about it on her blog.  But if you just want the pictorial version, here is is:

And if you're wondering if this place is serious, here's a story for you:  On our way into the part of the castle where the tournament takes place, I was fixing my hair so that the ponytail wasn't getting in the way of the crown.  One of the people working there spotted me with my crown TEMPORARILY off and said, "Put your crown on, my lady!  This isn't Burger King, and you can't have it your way."  Awesome.

Our knight was the red and gold one, but if we didn't have him, we would have wanted to cheer for the red knight, who Luke nicknamed "Thor."  They're fighting here, and our knight came out on top!

And since he was the winner of the tournament, he got to crown the "Queen of Love and Beauty."  Which turned out to be a cute little girl on the row RIGHT in front of us.  So we're practically famous.

All in all, an awesome time.  Thanks to the Lancasters for sharing your good luck with us!

Hey, thanks for "introducing" me (electronically anyway) to Krista. It has been so fun to know her!

FUN! I love Medieval Times! I went there once in HS and performed with my HS Madrigals group. We then got to stay for the show.
