Something to Be Thankful For: Journaling Edition

Last week I finished the last page in my gratitude journal.  I got this cute little book about three and a half years ago when I was in Taiwan, and when I got back to America that fall I started filling it with things I was thankful for from each day.

I wrote inconsistently; sometimes I would record a few things every day, sometimes I would go weeks without writing anything down.  But after a little more than three years, I have a little record (324 pages, 15 lines per page) of things Heavenly Father has blessed me with.  People, experiences, feelings, opportunities, conveniences, pleasures ... so so many things.  Here's a sampling of some of the things in my book:

Pink
Surprise phone calls
Mashed potatos
"Blackbird"
The Berhan Bunch
Family scripture study
Laughing together
Finding what I need
Reeses Pieces
Walks
The conference Ensign
Being waited for
Rain
Discretionary income
Fall colors
Pandora
Ice cream sandwiches
Having work to do
Being held & forgiven
Long sleeves
Crock pots
A quiet night
Progress
Extra time for Mom
Thought-provoking stories
Opportunities to improve
Sleeping it off
Lots of time with Luke
Salt water
The temple
Sisters
Clean bathrooms

I love having a book dedicated to recording blessings I have received.  I'd written things down before, but never quite as extensively as this.  I loved it.

I love it! I am so impressed that you filled the book! What an inspiration you are! Thank you so much for sharing some of your things that you are grateful for.
I've been getting caught up on your blog, and I am loving it! Your Thanksgiving banner is so CUTE!

And I love you the new nursery furniture! We have learned that this is true with the older kids too. When my oldest was 4 he was driving me crazy with getting into our comfy bed every night. I finally thought that maybe if he had a better bed he would stay in it. I was right!

So now I care very much about the quality of my kids' mattresses. It's worth my sanity!
